KHOL Cut Out Heart Enamel Cuffs by Ann Lou

07 06 2010 18 53 30 KHOL Cut Out Heart Enamel Cuffs by Ann LouI will be completely honest: at first I did not like this cuff at all. I am not entirely sure exactly what it was that I did not like – even if there was just one particular thing at all. Whatever the reason, my initial reaction to this cuff was distaste.
But it grows on you.

It is a simple design and I have always favored the simple over the elaborate. I believe that an elaborately designed piece of eye-catching jewelry is the product of merely mediocre talent. However, the simple jewelry that creates the same effect is the result of a gifted jewelry designer.

This cut out heart enamel cuff sneaks up on you. The gold and black color scheme is an old one – but it is used frequently because it works. In this particular example, the black and gold works well.

The single cut out heart is very effective at creating a cute and lovable piece. The gold outline of the heart is also a nice touch. Bravo.

The cuff is also available in white, gold, pastel blue, and pastel pink. To me, the black works the best and, of course, black never goes out of style. At £45 the price is not too steep to keep you from purchasing more than one.

First Look: 1ct FOREVERMARK Diamond Tie Pin

slide 1227692694 tiepin2 300x300 First Look: 1ct FOREVERMARK Diamond Tie PinShaun Leane shows exactly why he has been awarded Jewelry Designer of the Year with this stunning tie pin. It blends fashion with tradition superbly and has the honest feel of an antique. There is nothing over the top about this pin – its qualities are subtle yet striking.

The 18kt white gold setting is refined and simple. The 1ct princess cut diamond whispers “high class.” When combined together, the white gold and the 1ct diamond make an immediate and significant impression.

I would wear no other jewelry with this tie pin because I believe it says everything about its wearer without needing any additional support. Furthermore, I think additional jewelry would only detract from the statement this tie pin makes. This tie pin, in my opinion, is a soloist – when it speaks by itself, it speaks quietly but with certitude.

This is not a piece that I would recommend wearing very often. I think its purpose is best served when dished out only sparingly. If worn frequently, it’s affect on the viewer will slowly be diminished.

At more than £10,200 this tie pin does not come without its hefty price; however, if your goal is a quiet, refined high class, then you need to look no further and you really cannot do any better.
